Biography
I am 58 yrs old. I Retired from Johnson & Johnson in May 2010 after 22 yrs of service where I held numerous jobs, from working in the warehouse, to a production line worker. I then returned to school and became a machinist and worked as a shop supervisor in charge of over 10 million dollars of tooling until retirement.
I started hunting in North Central Florida when I was 15 years old. I lost interest in hunting for about 10 years due to the lack of deer in Northern Florida. After a long absence from waking up and watching nature come alive, I was invited to hunt the low country of South Carolina. That was over 10 yrs ago. I have been involved in what my wife calls the other woman in my life (South Carolina) hunting every since. In 2002 one of my best friends and current business partners (Bob), invited me to become a land owner and guide of what we proudly now call Birds Branch Plantation.
We are a small company that pays attention to the small things that will make your hunt the most enjoyable possible. Sure, we do not have a big lodge, we stay in campers. However, its not the lodge I want you to enjoy, it's the harvest of a deer of your choice. It's our dream come true, every time we pick up a client and he informs us his hunt was a success.
You have my word, we will do everything we can to make your hunt one of a lifetime, and one you will remember and tell your grandchildren about...

Biography
I started out as a child, my grandpa started taking me rabbit hunting when I was 4 yrs old in Michigan. My parents moved me to Miami, Florida when I was still quite young and didn’t start hunting again until high school. Friends invited me hog hunting in the Everglades, airboats, dogs, wet and wild, I was hooked. After high school I took a six year break while the United States Marine Corps, had other plans for my hunting which didn’t include deer or hogs. Once back in civilian life I moved to North Florida where I started my family and began hunting again with my brother-in-law Bob. We were soon hunting whitetail deer and hogs all over; with my dad and cousins in Michigan, with friends in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida even hunting for pheasant in Ireland. Then my neighbor invited Bob and I to hunt at his club in Bamberg, South Carolina. We were hooked; we saw more deer in 2 days than I’d seen in 10 years hunting North Florida, more deer at one time than anywhere not fenced that I’d seen and I’ve been around the woods. I still hunt other states but I always end up back in Bamberg, S.C. God’s Country.
Erika, my daughter, is quite the shot and loves to hunt with us, we're all about bringing new hunters into the sport. I’ve been hunting for over 45 years now and am one heck of a tracker; you shoot them, I’ll find them but, but it is a lot easier if they cooperate and drop on the spot. Bob, Ted and I got into this and all bought property to start our own piece of heaven and just enjoy meeting new people, sitting around the fire and tell stories. We take great pride in our land and managing our herd, they are spoiled, we wore out a tractor just planting food for the beasts.
Come hunt with us and I promise you the real deal, hunting with NO fences and nature at its purest. We’ll leave the camp fire lit for you!
